Critical transfers

Moving the sickest patients, safely

Some patients are too unstable for a long road journey, and some emergencies are too far from the care they need. Air ambulance support exists for exactly these situations — moving critically ill patients quickly, with medical supervision through the journey.

What sets the Kainos service apart is its foundation: the programme was established under our founding visionary, the late Dr. Arvind Dahiya, who held a pre-hospital and air transfer fellowship from University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire in the UK. Today our critical care team carries that work forward, and the hospital's ECMO and retrieval experience means even patients on advanced organ support can be received and managed on arrival.

To discuss an urgent transfer — into Kainos or onward to another centre — call the 24x7 line and ask for the critical care team.

Before you call, keep handy: the patient's current condition and diagnosis, the referring hospital's contact, and the destination. Our team will guide the rest.
