Interventional Radiology

Neuro, vascular and body interventions through a pinhole.

Some of the most dramatic treatments in modern medicine happen through a puncture in the groin: pulling a clot out of a blocked brain artery, sealing an aneurysm before it bursts, shrinking a fibroid without opening the abdomen. Our interventional radiologists perform these procedures on site, under image guidance, usually with a sedative rather than a general anaesthetic.

For stroke patients the capability that matters is mechanical thrombectomy — and having it in Rohtak saves the hours that decide whether someone walks out of hospital. Beyond the brain, the same techniques treat vascular, hepatobiliary, genito-urinary, musculoskeletal and cancer problems that once needed open surgery.
