Minimal Access & Laparoscopic Surgery

Through cuts smaller than a fingertip, laparoscopic surgery accomplishes what once needed a long incision and a longer hospital stay. The department opened in August 2017 and has since completed more than 5,000 successful operations, running OPD every day of the week alongside elective and emergency lists.

It is led by Dr. Anand Kumar Yadav, who has over fifteen years of experience in complex surgery at tertiary centres, and the unit was the first in this region to bring robotic and advanced laparoscopic work — thoraco-laparoscopic oesophagectomy, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, solid organ surgery and complex hernia repair with abdominal wall reconstruction — to patients who would otherwise have travelled to Delhi.

Less pain, smaller scars, earlier return to work: for most abdominal operations keyhole is now simply the better way, and at Kainos it is the default wherever it is clinically appropriate.
